"My 31,536,000 second exposure for the last year! The can was distorted when I mounted the Solarcan but left it to see the final impact.
The image is distorted from the nice curves expected if the can had not been distorted.
I had adjusted the angle of the Solarcan and as a result captured the full range of solar elevation through the year (previous angles had missed peak at summer solstice).

A year of the Sun from down under, on top of a garage roof. Captured by @obaddeley this teal flavoured Solarcan result was achieved over a year of time. As the Sun past through the sky daily it rose and fell through the seasons and began writing over itself.

Yesterday was phenomenal! People from all over the world joined in to be part of the #solarcan community and share the captures they’d been working on along with the new installs going up. We are so grateful at how lovely you all are!

5 Days to Solarcan Day 💫

Cor, this beauty was sent in all the way from Cape Town, South Africa by all round superstar and educator Gareth Evans.

Gareth mounted his Solarcan at a 35 degree angle, but the Sun’s altitude in Cape Town during their Summer (December) is still too high! He says he’ll try again soon.

Even so, we think it’s brilliant!
